Over 23 million US VoIP users by 2011

According to the last survey of TeleGeography "US VoIP Research Service", VoIP users will double in US by 2011, reaching over 23 million, whereas VoIP penetration in Europe will be about twice as high in the US.

VoIP is supposed to change in a significant way European fixed-line market structure, thanks to aggressive competition and pricing and active partecipation by incumbent operators, whereas o far in US AT&T, Verizon and Qwest are not been very competitive.
